Senior Backend Engineer
Own parts of the OCPP gateway, the event pipeline and the billing engine on a platform where a bug is somebody’s money.

About the role
You will work on the systems that sit between physical charging hardware and financial records: a WebSocket gateway holding thousands of long-lived charger sessions, an event pipeline that must never lose or duplicate a transaction, and a billing engine whose output ends up on a GST invoice.
Responsibilities
What you would be doing
- Design and build async Python services — FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Redis streams — that scale horizontally
- Work on the OCPP protocol layer, keeping it isolated from business logic and non-blocking under load
- Build idempotent event consumers and the reconciliation that proves they were idempotent
- Extend the multi-tenant data layer without weakening tenant isolation
- Take part in incident response for a platform that operators depend on around the clock
Requirements
What we are looking for
- Five or more years building backend services in production, with real async experience
- Strong PostgreSQL — you have debugged a connection-pool exhaustion and know what it looks like from the outside
- Experience with message streams or queues and the failure modes they introduce
- A habit of writing the test that would have caught the bug
Nice to have
- Experience with OCPP, OCPI, IoT device fleets or payments
- Familiarity with Indian payment gateways and GST invoicing
