01Comparison

How zevOS compares — including where it loses

A comparison table where every column is green for one product is worth nothing to a buyer. Two rows below are honest disadvantages, and if either is a hard requirement for you, we would rather you knew now.

Hardware-agnostic across vendors

Can you change charger brand without changing platform?

GST invoicing built in

HSN/SAC, place of supply, sequential series — not a CSV your accountant reworks.

UPI as a first-class payment method

With pre-authorisation and automatic partial refunds around it.

Charging without an app install

QR to browser, priced before the driver commits.

Partner settlement with statements

Contract-driven splits, session-level backing, scoped partner portal.

No subscription

Fee applies to sessions that earned, not to a seat count or a tier.

OCPI roaming, both roles

CPO and eMSP, so you can publish and consume.

Smart charging enforced on the charger

TxDefaultProfile re-applied on boot, not a limit the platform hopes holds.

ISO 27001 / SOC 2 held today

Some procurement processes require it as a gate.

ISO 15118 plug-and-charge

Not yet built here. OCPP 2.0.1, the prerequisite, is supported.

Support in your timezone

Someone reachable when a corridor site goes down on a Sunday evening.

Full data export, any time

Sessions, meter values, payments, settlements — through the API, without asking.

Time to first paid session

From installed hardware to money collected.

  • Partly, or with work
  • No

Reading the table

What the marks mean in practice

Comparison tables flatten things that are not flat. Three of these rows deserve more than a symbol.

Build your own is not free

Marked "yes" on flexibility, and correctly so. But an OCPP gateway, a payments and refunds engine, a tariff resolver, a settlement ledger and GST invoicing all have to exist before you sell a unit of energy. Teams underestimate the billing edge cases, not the protocol.

Global CSMS wins on certifications

If your procurement gate is ISO 27001 or SOC 2, that is a genuine advantage today and we are not going to argue it away. It typically comes with subscription pricing that lands before your utilisation does.

Vendor software is fastest to start

And that is real. The cost is that your platform choice is now welded to your hardware choice, which quietly removes your negotiating position on every future purchase order.

It is a better thirty minutes than a feature tour, and it saves both of us an evaluation cycle.
