Answers to the questions that come up most, for operators running on zevOS and for drivers who charged at one of their chargers.

For operators

Running the platform

If your question is not here, ask — most of these entries started as somebody's support ticket.

A charger will not connect. Where do I start?

Nine times out of ten it is the OCPP identity or the endpoint URL, entered with a typo or the wrong case. After that, check that the site’s firewall permits outbound WebSocket upgrades on 443 — many host networks allow HTTPS but block the upgrade. If both are correct, the charger’s message log will show whether it is reaching us at all.

A session shows energy but the driver was not charged.

Check the payment status on the session. The usual causes are a pre-authorisation that expired before capture, a gateway decline after the session completed, or a free or promotional tariff. All three are distinguishable in the session record, and the first two are recoverable through follow-up.

A session closed with zero or implausible energy.

This is almost always meter value configuration. Confirm the charger reports Energy.Active.Import.Register in MeterValuesSampledData and that a sample interval is set. A unit that reports no energy register cannot be billed correctly, and the fix is a configuration change rather than a refund policy.

How do I give a site partner access to only their chargers?

Create the partner, link their stations, and send an invite. They set their own password and see only their own stations, sessions, uptime and settlements. The scoping is applied in the data layer, so it also holds for their exports.

How do I restrict a staff member to one city?

Create a station group containing those sites and assign the staff member to it with the permission level you want — view, operate or manage. Owners always retain full visibility, so nobody can accidentally lock themselves out.

I changed a tariff. Does it affect sessions already running?

No. The resolved tariff is snapshotted onto each session when it starts, so a price change applies to sessions that begin after it. Past invoices are never rewritten.

A charging profile does not seem to be working.

Read back the composite schedule from the charger. Some models accept SetChargingProfile and then ignore it — the response and the composite schedule will show which. Also confirm the profile was re-applied after the charger’s last boot.

How do I get my data out?

Through CSV export in the console, or programmatically through the API — sessions, meter values, drivers, payments, invoices and settlements. There is no request process and no delay.

For drivers

Charging and payments

zevOS is the software behind the charger. The operator whose name is on your receipt holds the merchant account and can resolve payment questions directly.

I was charged but the session did not start.

If no energy was delivered, the authorisation is released or the payment refunded in full automatically. Depending on your bank, the amount can take a few working days to reappear. If it has been longer than that, contact the charging operator whose name appears on your receipt.

The amount held was more than the session cost.

Charging has to authorise an amount before the final cost is known. The difference between the amount held and the energy actually delivered is refunded automatically once the session ends.

Who do I contact about a charging session?

The charging operator, whose name and support number appear on the charging page and on your receipt. zevOS is the software platform the operator uses — the operator holds the merchant account and can resolve session and refund questions directly.

Where is my receipt?

It is sent when the session completes and is available in your charging history. If you need a tax invoice with your company GSTIN, ask the operator to set up a business account for you.

Still stuck?

Send us the charger identity and roughly when it happened. That is usually enough for us to find the exact frame sequence.
